Client Background

Our client group consisted of an accountant, doctor and pharmacist who have been working on the business side of a pharmacy for a very long time. They are an established group across North London, and they took over a very old and ageing space where the pharmacy was trading next door. Our clients had an idea to offer separate pharmacy and clinical services in form of two spaces, which were to be in the same building and adjacent to each other, though remain separate.

Points of note

Our clients took over a very old looking pharmacy in Swiss Cottage and had initial plans to open a modern, bright pharmacy and a GP clinic into an adjacent unit. The scope included extension of the building, which was also taken care of by Rapeed’s design and build team.

The plans were drawn up and agreed for the expansion of the pharmacy, while the clinic was to be built into the basement for more room.

The project was re-drawn keeping the key points of access in mind alongside building regulations compliance.

This project is one of the longest Rapeed has worked on as near the project completion, floods damaged the basement, and all work had to be redone. Eventually all work was completed and the clinic and pharmacy became fully functional with bright colours canvas and slick design.

The Rapeed team handled the full building works and building regulations through planning application, making sure that the premises are compliant as well as well-designed. The pharmacy and the GP clinic had full plumbing, flooring, ceiling and lighting done, as well as fresh air and ventilation installation.

The brand new pharmacy was outfitted with the counter, dispensary and shelving for storage and display
